Sometimes all you need to do is return to the shores of your childhood with a cup of coffee and the one you love and watch as the sun slowly rises with the sound of the gulls. The silence and darkness is always thickest before the dawn, and it reminded me of the words I grew up singing long ago. "Though the sorrow may last for the night, the joy comes in the morning."

ReplyDeleteBeautiful beautiful beautiful. Especially that last photo, I love how the light turned out. I used to watch the sunrise every morning when I worked on a farm this summer, but it's been a while. Lovely post.

ReplyDeletePS I am in love with your blog! I spent 3 years working at a farm cafe in rural NZ, and I miss it like crazy - it was next door to a stables as well so I spent a whole lot of time in both - super jealous! :) x

Those pictures are so beautiful, I bet it was even more beautiful in person! I never thought about doing this with a loved one, but waking up early for a drive to the waterfront and watching the sunrise sounds so lovely and romantic. Not just watching the sunrise, but the whole process of waking up early, getting breakfast, and going there.

Thank you Becky! It is a really nice way to spend a morning. The best part is that if you're tired again by the sunrise, you have a great excuse to spend the rest of the morning cuddling in bed :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jessica :) They were all from the same morning, taken over the span of about 45 minutes.
ReplyDeletegorgeous photos!
